1I. If something goes wrong
1. Accommodations
1A. Who we are
Disability Destinations is an independent UK based platform that helps people find wheelchair friendly and accessibility aware holiday accommodation. We do not own or manage the properties listed on our site. Each property is run by a separate owner, manager or partner who has chosen to appear on Disability Destinations.
Our role is to provide the platform, tools and information that help you compare options and connect with the right place to stay for your needs.
1B. How our service works
We make it easier to discover accommodation that matches specific accessibility needs, such as wheelchair friendly access, wet rooms, hoist facilities, profiling beds, step free entry and more.
On Disability Destinations you can:
- Search by area, region or attraction
- Apply accessibility filters that matter to you
- Compare properties on things like bedrooms, sleeps, dog friendliness and price
- Click through to the property page or partner website to check details and book
When you make a booking, you enter into a contract with the property owner, manager or partner site, not with Disability Destinations. They are responsible for the accommodation and your stay. We are responsible for running the platform and showing information as clearly and accurately as we reasonably can, based on what partners tell us.
1C. Who we work with
We list a mix of:
- Direct properties where owners or managers create and maintain their own listing on Disability Destinations
- Paid and Featured partners who choose a higher visibility plan with us
- Affiliate and third party properties supplied via partners such as large booking platforms
We only show accommodations that have a relationship with us, either directly or via an affiliate partner. Some properties that appear on other travel websites may not appear on Disability Destinations, and some properties shown on our site may also be listed elsewhere.
Disability Destinations does not act as the accommodation provider. Each property is run independently and is responsible for keeping its information accurate and up to date.
1D. How we make money
Disability Destinations is free to use for guests. We make money in a few ways:
- Listing plans
Property owners can choose between free and paid listing options. Paid plans give extra benefits, such as additional photos or extra listing features. - Featured visibility
Some owners pay to have their property marked as Featured. Featured listings receive higher visibility in some parts of the site and can appear higher in the default order. - Affiliate commissions
For some properties, particularly those that link to external booking platforms, we may receive a commission or referral fee if you make a booking after clicking through from Disability Destinations.
We do not buy or resell rooms or nights. Instead, owners and partners pay us for marketing exposure, leads or bookings generated through the platform.
Because commercial agreements form part of our business model, payments to Disability Destinations, including commission and advertising style features, can influence how prominently some listings appear.
1E. How listings are ordered
Our default order
When you first see search results on Disability Destinations, they are sorted using our default order. At the moment this works in three main stages:
- Featured listings first
Properties that have paid for Featured placement appear at the top of the default order within the area you are viewing. - Standard ranking for all other listings
The rest of the properties are ordered using a combination of factors, which can include:- Match with your filters, especially accessibility options
- Location relevance to your search or chosen area
- Listing completeness and quality, such as clear photos and detailed accessibility information
- Signs of guest interest, such as page views or click throughs
- Reliability signals, such as how consistently a listing is maintained
- Tiebreakers
Where properties are very similar on these factors, we may use additional signals as tiebreakers, such as price level or plan type.
Commercial arrangements, including the listing plan a property chooses and any commission or promotional spend, may play a role in where a property appears in the default order, but they are not the only factor. We also want the results to remain relevant and useful for guests who rely on accurate accessibility information.
Other sort options
Where supported by our system on a particular page, you may be able to change the sort order yourself, for example by:
- Price
- Newest listings
- Distance or area
When you switch to another sort option, we will use that as the main ordering rule, although some of the default ranking factors may still be used as tiebreakers between very similar properties.
1F. Labels, badges and “Featured” listings
To help you quickly understand what you are looking at, we sometimes add labels or badges to properties on the search results page or on the property details page. Typical examples include:
- “Featured” or similar
The property has chosen a plan with extra visibility, and this may help it appear higher in the default order. - Accessibility related badges
Such as “Wheelchair friendly”, “Wet room”, “Hoist facilities”, “Profiling bed” or “Suitable for limited mobility”. These are based on information provided by the property owner or partner. - Other amenity badges
Such as “Dogs welcome” or other key features that guests often search for.
Badges are meant to highlight important attributes quickly. They do not replace reading the full accessibility information on the property page, and they are not a guarantee that a property is suitable for every individual situation.
1G. Prices
Prices shown on Disability Destinations are set by the property owner, manager or partner site, not by us. In some cases we show an approximate “from” price to help you compare options.
Keep in mind that:
- Prices can vary by date, season, number of guests and length of stay
- Some properties include certain charges in the price and others list them separately
- For affiliate or partner listings, the final price and any taxes or fees will be shown on the partner’s own site when you complete your booking
We do our best to display prices clearly and accurately, but the owner or partner always has the final word on availability, pricing and booking conditions.
1H. Reviews and guest feedback
Where available, we may show:
- Reviews collected directly by Disability Destinations
- Ratings or feedback provided by a partner platform
Reviews are there to help future guests understand what to expect. We want them to remain relevant and appropriate, so we may remove content that is offensive, spam, clearly not related to a real stay or breaches our content standards.
We aim to show recent and useful reviews first. On some pages you may be able to change the review order, for example by newest or highest rating, depending on the tools we provide at the time.
1I. If something goes wrong
Your booking is made directly with the accommodation provider or partner site, and their terms and policies will apply to your stay. If you have an issue with:
- Check in or the property itself
- Accessibility not matching the description
- Charges, cancellations or refunds
you should contact the property or partner site first, as they are responsible for the travel service.
If you believe information on Disability Destinations is inaccurate or misleading, or you are struggling to resolve a problem with a listed property, you can contact us and:
- Tell us which property and dates are involved
- Explain what went wrong and what outcome you are looking for
- Share any supporting information, such as emails or photos
We cannot guarantee a particular result, but we will review the information and may:
- Work with the owner or partner to clarify or correct the listing
- Suggest updates to the accessibility information
- Remove or suspend a listing where we believe it no longer meets our standards or our agreement with the provider
Our aim is always to support disabled travellers and families, and to keep Disability Destinations a useful, trustworthy place to find wheelchair friendly holiday accommodation.
